Position : Marine & Civil Construction Equipment Mechanic
Employment : 3 – 4 months project with option to extend
Location : Saba
Hours : 40 Hours
Salary : XCG $3.000 – $3.500 net per month
Extra : Accommodation, tickets, and meals will be covered by the company
For one of our clients we’re looking for a Marine & Civil Construction Equipment Mechanic. You will be a part of an international organization that’s working right now on the SABA Black Rocks Harbor Project! This Project is to design and construct a new port on the south side of Saba an island in the Caribbean. The scope of the project contains dredging, a rock-breakwater, a concrete deck on piles and civil works on land. It is anticipated to erect a Precast Yard for the project on STATIA Island.

What will you do?
As a Marine & Civil Construction Equipment Mechanic you will be responsible for:
- Perform maintenance, setup, and repair of heavy equipment used in marine and civil construction projects
- Inspect engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components to ensure operational readiness
- Conduct preventive maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic issues
- Support commissioning of new equipment for marine operations
- Work both in the workshop and on-site, maintaining a safe and organized environment
- Collaborate with electricians, mechanics, and subcontractors on multidisciplinary tasks
- Ensure compliance with international safety standards (ISO, IEC, OSHA). Reporting will be to the Plant Manager and strong interaction is required with the Construction Team
What we ask
- Possession of a Dutch//American passport is mandatory
- Technical certification in mechanics or equivalent experience.
- 5–10 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance (marine/civil construction preferred)
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics
- Welding and fabrication skills are an asset
- Valid driver’s license; forklift or crane certification preferred
- Basic computer skills (MS Office, AutoCAD)
- Problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and commitment to safety.Experience on civil, marine or mining project
