Position : Excavator Operator
Employment : 3 – 4 months project with the option to extend
Location : Saba
Hours : 40 Hours per week
Salary : $3.000 – $3.500, – net per month
Extra : Accommodation, flights, and meals will be covered by the company
We’re looking for an Excavator Operator to join one of our international clients currently working on the Black Rocks Harbor Project in Saba. This large-scale marine construction project focuses on the design and development of a new port on the south side of Saba, a beautiful island in the Caribbean. The work includes dredging, constructing a rock breakwater and a concrete deck on piles, and completing civil works on land. To support the project, a precast yard will also be set up on Statia Island.

What will you do?
As a Excavator Operator you will be responsible for:
- You are a heavy equipment operator who operates an excavator CAT 330 to excavate in various soil types, loading trucks with rock and gravel, profiling of slopes of breakwater and various other operations.
- The excavator operator is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the equipment, as well as maintaining and servicing the machine.
- Reporting will be to the Plant Manager and strong interaction is required with the Construction Team
What we ask
- Possession of a Dutch//American passport is mandatory
- Heavy duty operator with 5 years experience on civil marine/ dredging projects
- Experience on civil, marine or mining projects
- Operate and maintain excavator CAT 330 or equivalent to excavate, load and transport material
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes and bulldozers to move materials, excavate trenches, profile slopes of terraces and breakwater
- Inspect the machine before and after use to ensure it is in good operating condition
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment including greasing, changing filters, and checking fluid levels
- Verify equipment is in good working order before beginning work
- Determine depth, grade, and alignment of excavation according to project specifications
- Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Communicate clearly with team members and management
- Report any issues or needed repairs to maintenance personnel
- Assist with other duties as assigned
- Willing to relocate to Saba and Statia
- Proficient in English language;
- Pro-active attitude would be required to be successful in this role
